Who this guide is for

You're weighing up 8th arrondissement and want to picture life there concretely — the real feel, daily life, budget and commute — before you commit.

The essentials in 2 minutes
  • 8th arrondissement in a word: champs/luxury, corporate, showcase (8e arr.).
  • Budget: around 1 750–2 250 € a month for a 1-bed (~40 m²) / month — an indicative range; the exact rent by number of bedrooms is in the app.
  • Transport: M1 · M2 · M9 · M13 · RER A.
  • Whether 8th arrondissement actually fits you — ranked against 19 other arrondissements on YOUR budget, commute and priorities — is what the Veia app decides.

Life in the 8th arrondissement

Luxury and business Paris: the Champs-Élysées, the Golden Triangle, and Parc Monceau to the north. Practical if you work in the area or the west (M1, 2, 9, 13, RER A connect you everywhere), but the residential soul concentrates around Monceau, calmer and more lived-in. The rest is mostly showcase, offices and tourists, with little neighbourhood life at night. High rents and little 'village' charm. Mainly worth it for proximity to work in the area; aim for the northern 8th (Monceau) if you really want to live here with a family.

Insider tip

Mostly offices; to live, aim for the streets by Parc Monceau (northern 8th), more residential. The rest is showcase and tourists.
